William Flax-Leight returned to the City School District of Â鶹ӰÒô this week as Assistant Principal at Arbor Hill Elementary School.
Flax-Leight, who began at Giffen Memorial Elementary School in January 2020, joins Principal Rosalind Gaines-Harrell on the school's leadership team as the City School District of Â鶹ӰÒô begins to strategically rebuild its staffing and programs.
Flax-Leight came to Â鶹ӰÒô by way of the Troy City School District, where he taught English language arts to students in grades 7- 8 since 2006. He also served as the district’s K-12 ELA curriculum leader for the past four years. Besides his work in schools,
Flax-Leight directed a prekindergarten literacy program in Troy since 2012 and led adult literacy groups at the Troy Public Library since 2015.
