Modified fall sports tryouts, practices begin Aug. 28

The fall modified sports season officially begins on Thursday, Aug. 28 for City School District of Âé¶¹Ó°Òô student-athletes in grades 7-8. All paperwork, including physical information, must be complete to participate.  


Practice schedules

for both high school and modified sports are accessible on the fall sports page. Our modified fall sports are (all are hosted at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School unless otherwise noted): 

  • Cross country
  • Football - hosted at William S. Hackett Middle School
  • Volleyball 
  • Soccer (boys' modified and mod-9 teams)
  • Soccer (girls')

All coaches will keep student-athletes and families informed about adjustments to the practice schedule as the season proceeds. The for fall sports is available in our Athletics section.


Transportation information

Once the school year begins, students at Âé¶¹Ó°Òô High, Hackett, Myers and North Âé¶¹Ó°Òô middle schools can use the afternoon CDTA tripper network to get to the location for their practices. Here are the recommended CDTA tripper routes for each middle school:

Âé¶¹Ó°Òô High

Hackett

  • To Myers: 801 Yellow to Myers
  • To Âé¶¹Ó°Òô High: 801 Yellow to North Allen Street and Washington Avenue

Myers

  • To Hackett: 801 Brown to Hackett
  • To Âé¶¹Ó°Òô High: 801 Orange to North Allen and State streets

North Âé¶¹Ó°Òô

  • To Hackett: 803 Green to Hackett
  • To Myers: 803 Green to Marwill and Whitehall roads
  • To Âé¶¹Ó°Òô High: 803 Purple to Manning Boulevard and North Main Avenue

Âé¶¹Ó°Òô International Academy 

Yellow bus transportation will be provided at dismissal time for students in the Newcomer Program who will be traveling to modified sports tryouts/practices at Myers, Hackett and Âé¶¹Ó°Òô High.

Once team rosters are determined, Newcomer students will be assigned a bus route on a yellow bus from Âé¶¹Ó°Òô International Academy to the location of their to sports practices for the remainder of the season.
